HOW LONG DOES A TYPICAL TREATMENT TAKE?

 

Upon receiving a Botox® or Dysport® treatment at your Ola Bella Medical Aesthetics and Beauty Clinique, we will begin by having your skin and/or specific problem area thoroughly examined by a Doctor. Following the application of a topical anesthetic (if requested), Botox® or Dysport® will be injected directly into your facial muscles in the areas where underlying problems occur. Each session of your treatment will take 10-20 minutes. Botox® or Dysport® treatments can also easily be scheduled during your lunch break or in between running errands.

IS A Botox® or Dysport® TREATMENT PAINFUL?

 

All Botox® or Dysport® treatments at Ola Bella Medical Aesthetics and Beauty Cliniques are performed by a Doctor. The treatment is largely painless. This is subject to the treated area as well as the patient’s sensitivity. An anesthetic cream or block can be applied prior to the procedure for sensitive patients which will reduce any sensitivity caused by the injections which are done with very fine needles. Botox® or Dysport® is injected into the skin by using a very thin needle to ensure patient comfort.

WHAT RESULTS MAY YOU EXPECT? *

 

Men and women love the near-instant results that come with Botox® or Dysport®.  You can expect results to appear in 3-5 days and last between 3-6 months. For example, following your Botox® or Dysport® treatment in the ‘frown’ area, you will be physically unable to frown for the period of time the procedures last.

IS THERE ANY DOWNTIME?

 

Botox® or Dysport® doesn’t have any downtime involved, also making it ideal for the patient with a busy lifestyle. While the majority of side effects are mild and short-lived, you may experience slight redness, swelling, or tenderness up to several days post-treatment. Make-up can be applied just 24-hours after your Botox® or Dysport® procedure.

CONTRA-INDICATIONS:

 

Do not have Botox® or Dysport® treatment if you: 

 

• are allergic to Botox® or Dysport® or any of its ingredients (see below),  

• are allergic to cow’s milk protein,

• had an allergic reaction to any other botulinum toxin product, such as Botox®, Dysport®, Myobloc® or Xeomin®,

• have a skin infection at the planned injection site,

• under 18 years of age, or

• are pregnant or breastfeeding.

Spread of Toxin Effects: In some cases, the effects of botulinum toxin products may affect areas of the body away from the injection site. Symptoms can happen hours to weeks after injection and may include swallowing and breathing problems, loss of strength and muscle weakness all over the body, double vision, blurred vision and drooping eyelids, hoarseness or change or loss of voice, trouble saying words clearly, or loss of bladder control. Swallowing and breathing problems can be life threatening and there have been reports of death. You are at the highest risk if these problems are pre‐existing before injection. There has not been a confirmed serious case of spread of toxin effect away from the injection site when BOTOX has been used at the recommended dose to treat chronic migraine, severe underarm sweating, blepharospasm, or strabismus, or when BOTOX Cosmetic has been used at the recommended dose to treat frown lines.
