Ola Bella is led by Dr Rick Diesel, a medical practitioner registered with the Health Professions Council of South Africa. He qualified in medicine at the University of the Witwatersrand and holds a Diploma in Anaesthesia from the Colleges of Medicine of South Africa, together with an MBA.
He practises as an anaesthetist at Newmarket Day Hospital, where he also chairs the board. Aesthetic medicine is the other half of his week, and the two inform each other more than you might expect. Anaesthesia is a discipline built around assessing a person carefully before anything happens to them, watching closely while it does, and knowing exactly what to do if something goes wrong. That is the habit he brought to Ola Bella.
In practice it means the consultation comes first, always. Facial anatomy is assessed rather than assumed. Treatment is planned in stages rather than sold as a package. The reasons a treatment might not suit you are discussed as openly as the reasons it might, and where a concern falls outside what the clinic can properly address, he will tell you so.
The clinic offers injectable treatments, collagen stimulation, skin health programmes, thread lifts, chemical peels, microneedling and scar revision. The treatment is chosen to fit the assessment, not the other way round.

Dr. Shené is a qualified dentist and experienced medical aesthetic practitioner with a passion for restoring confidence from the inside out. With over 8 years in the field of aesthetic medicine, she combines clinical expertise with a deep desire to help patients rediscover their beauty and purpose. Currently practicing in Paarl, Dr. Shené offers a unique, faith-inspired approach to aesthetics—where every patient is treated as “fearfully made and beautifully restored.” Her vision goes beyond skin deep, creating a space where transformation is not only visible, but deeply felt.
She consults at Ola Bella once a month, but is available for virtual consultations the rest of the month.
